WELCOME TO GETRADTEC!

The Research Group Translation Technologies (GETRADTEC) was created in August 2019 in the Center of Arts and Communication (CAC) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). GETRADTEC originated from a team that used to meet every two weeks to discuss translation theory and to plan the Translation Technologies group.

Our group is interested in translation and translating. We are especially excited about deepening knowledge on translation technologies. Currently, GETRADTEC is guided by the following thematic axis of study and research: subtitling, machine translation post-editing (MTPE), quality assessment and reception.

The group develops research and organizes conference/events directed to both professional and trainee translators as well as translation researchers. Moreover, we organize events (conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops) in order to share scientific information and promote the progress of research in Translation Studies.

Our principles are the diffusion and collective construction of knowledge, the visibility and expansion of Translation Studies and the promotion of professional and inter-institutional exchange.
